Join us September 13th for a presentation by Tony Bartels, DVM, MBA, from the Veterinary Information Network (VIN) on how to understand your student loans and navigate your repayment options. Participants will learn how to:

• Identify various student loan types used to finance a veterinary education
• Match loan types to repayment options
• Match repayment options to family, employment and financial situation
• Understand the pitfalls and challenges associated with student loan repayment
• Integrate a student loan repayment plan into a financial wellness plan

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ATTENDEES: A few lucky attendees can contribute their loan specifics in advance so we can use them as anonymous "case studies" during the lecture. Click here for more information on how to submit your loan information directly to Dr. Bartels for a loan repayment analysis.  Dr. Bartels will be reviewing this loan information live on September 13th so you must REGISTER and ATTEND the live broadcast to receive his advice.

Note: For attendees who are not volunteering student loan history, we encourage you to have access to your student loan information during the session to help formulate questions unique to your personal circumstances.

Presenter: Dr. Tony Bartels, DVM, MBA

Dr. Tony Bartels graduated in 2012 from the Colorado State University combined MBA/DVM program and is an employee of the Veterinary Information Network (VIN). He and his wife, a small-animal internal medicine specialist practicing in Denver, have more than $400,000 in veterinary school debt that they manage using federal income-driven repayment plans. By necessity (and now obsession), his professional activities include researching and speaking on veterinary student debt at veterinary schools and conferences, providing guidance to thousands of colleagues on loan repayment strategies, and contributing to VIN Foundation initiatives. Beyond student debt, his professional interests and experience include small- and exotic-animal practice and veterinary economics.
